Franz, Sharon A. (2 JUL 1948 – 13 SEP 2019)
Sharon A. (Sparks) Franz, 71, Land O’ Lakes, passed away with her husband at
her side on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., on
Wednesday, Sept. 18, at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Land O’ Lakes.
Sharon Sparks was born on July 2, 1948, in Rhinelander, to Jerry and Ruth
Sparks. Sharon graduated from Northland Pines High School in Eagle River.
She was a lifelong resident of Land O’ Lakes, where she lived with her
husband, Ronald L. Franz. Sharon was an active parishioner of St. Albert’s
Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes, where she taught faith formation classes,
was a choir member, and a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society for many years.
Sharon touched so many people’s hearts with her infectious laugh, her strong
faith and her willingness to help anyone in need. She leaves behind many
family members and friends who all were touched by her love, friendship and
too many memories to count.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ronald L. Franz; two children:
Ron J. (Jeanne) Franz of Winona, Minn., and Julia A. (Rob) Lammert of New
Richmond; and six grandchildren: Justin Franz, Natalya Franz, Alex Lammert,
Nathan Lammert, Joey Lammert, and Mikey Lammert; all of whom she lived for
and who will never forget her hugs, smiles, support and of course the treats
she always had for them when they visited. She is also survived by three
siblings: Jerry (Shelly) Sparks, Diane Sparks, and David (Syndie) Sparks;
and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, is assisting the family with
