The Rev. James J. "Jim" Logan of 407 N. Division St. Loyal, has been pastor
of St. Anthony's Catholic Church there since his arrival from Schofield July
1, 1980. He was born August 14, 1933 in Stevens Point.
After graduating from St. Norbert's High School, De Pere, he attended Holy
Cross Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. He was ordained May 9, 1959 at Holy Cross
Seminary, La Crosse. Since his ordination, he also earned a master's degree
in religious education from Loyola University in Chicago. On June 3, 1959 he
was named assistant pastor at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stevens Point,
and on June 28, 1960 he became an instructor at Marshfield Columbus High
School. He became assistant administrator June 19, 1963 at Columbus High
School. On August 16, 1967 he was assigned as assistant at Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church, Marshfield, and full-time instructor at Columbus High
School. His next assignment was instructor at Aquinas High School, La
Crosse, August 18, 1970. On October 6, 1971 his assignment was to be
associate pastor at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Menomonie, and
administrator of St. Luke's, Boyceville, continuing to share
responsibilities at the Newman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stout,
Menominee, beginning August 24, 1972. On June 1, 1873 he was named chaplain
at the St. Joseph Provincial Motherhouse at Stevens Point and instructor at
Pacelli High School there. In 1978 he was appointed pastor at St. Agnes
Catholic Church, Schofield, where he served until his appointment to St.
Anthony's.
