Martin, Gertrude (15 February 1890 – 20 July 1975)

Funeral services are to be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for an area native, Mrs. Gertrude (Howard) Martin, 85, of Long Beach, Ca., who died July 20 at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. The Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church will officiate, and burial will follow in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Mrs. Martin, the daughter of George and Caroline Lichte Howard, was born February 15, 1890, in Clark County. Her marriage to William Martin took place December 22, 1928, at Oakland, Ca. Mr. Martin preceded his wife in death. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and of Granton Royal Neighbors of America Fidelity Camp No. 6375.

A brother, Vern Howard of Neillsville, is the only immediate survivor.

Martin, Gertrude (1890 – 20 July 1975)

Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Mrs. Gertrude Howard Martin of Long Beach, Ca., who died July 20 at Long beach Memorial Hospital. The Rev. William Noble of the United Methodist Church officiated.

“Whispering Hope” and “Abide With Me” were sung by Wilfred Galstad. Marilyn Galstad was the accompanist.

Burial was in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Howard, Clarion Howard, Elmer Lichte, Vern H. Howard, Ed Zieroth and Wm. Howard.

Members of the Royal Neighbors of America Fidelity Camp No. 6375 of Granton attended in a body.

Among those attending the services were the following from out of town: Mrs. Erma Howard, West Allis; Mrs. Eleanor Huebner, Willard; Mrs. Gerhardt Lichte and Allen Lichte. Greenwood; Walter Steinbach, Mrs. Wm. Vine, Rollie Dietrich, Marian Dietrich and Mr. and Mrs. William Howard, Granton; Robert Howard and Merton Howard, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Howard and Mrs. Dexter Hiles, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ahlberg, Barron; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reynolds, Hollandale; Mr. and Mrs. Vern H. Howard, Brookfield; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Zieroth, Waconia, Mn.
