Slovenian Club Picnic (Oldest – July 1975)
Honored at Willard – Mrs. Anna Verschay, 87; Mrs. Anna Volovsek, 87; Mrs.
Mary Gregorich, 91; and Mrs, Louise Bukovec, 91, were honored as the oldest
in attendance at the first picnic of a newly organized Slovenian Club at
Willard. (There was a photo of the four ladies and looked pretty nice for
their ages. Dmk)
Picnic Held at Willard:
The Slovenian Woman’s Union, combined with the newly organized Slovenian
Club, held there picnic last Sunday at the open shelter in Willard. Their
guests were the elderly of Willard, Mrs. Louise Bukovec, Mrs. Mary
Gregorich, Mrs. Anna Verschay and Mrs. Anna Volovsek.
A potluck lunch and other Slovenian dishes the audience were treated to
along with refreshments. Some dancing and other amusements were on the
agenda. Music was furnished by the Frank Pakiz orchestra. Slovenian songs
were also sung.
