Seibold, John (15 SEP 1900 – 6 JUN 1986)
John Seibold, 85, 106 N. Crocker, Greenwood, died Friday, June 6, 1986 at
Neillsville Memorial Home.
Mr. Seibold was born September 15, 1900, in the Town of Warner, Greenwood,
the son of Andrew and Lana (Conrad) Seibold. he attended Brown Settlement
School. On June 22, 1927, he married Erma Vollrath in the Town of Warner.
They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1977. She survives.
Until 1974, the couple farmed in the Town of Warner after retiring they
moved to the City of Green-wood.
He was an assessor for the Town of Warner, served on the Brown Settlement
School Board, and was on the Consistory of the Salem Evangelical Reformed
Church and Immanuel United Church of Christ. During his retirement he was
active in Greenwood Senior Citizens and as a director of the Greenwood
Credit Union.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Vemon (Jeanette) Lust, of
Altoona; and Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Nichols of Tomah; a sister, Mrs. Alfred
(Ina) Laabs of Mauston; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Services were at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. The Rev. Alwyn
York of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Stratford officiated. Burial was
in the West Side Cemetery, Greenwood.
Active pallbearers were Lester Abel, Larry Dallman, Harold Kuehn, Roger
Standiford, Robert Rogstad and Eldon Liebzeit.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilbur Stewart, Clarence Verhulst, Orlin Schwarze,
Harold Horn, Walter Decker and Fred Timmler.
