Schmidt, Lorena H. (12 MAR 1908 – 25 APR 1999)

LOYAL — Lorena Helen Schmidt, 91, of Marshfield, died at 2:05 a.m. April 25, 1999, at St Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care Unit.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Jerome Hoeser will be the celebrant and the Rev. Roman Kaiser will be concelebrant.

Burial will be in St Anthony's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike, Tom, Patrick, Ron and Dale Schmidt and Ken Goetz.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm Tuesday at Rinka Funeral Home in Loyal and a Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 pm.

Lorena Helen Conrad was born March 12, 1908, in McMillan to Carl and Lena (nee Taube) Conrad. She attended Griffith School in the town of Sherman. After school she did domestic work.

On May 1, 1928, she married George P Schmidt at St John's Catholic Church in Marshfield The couple farmed for 40 years in die town of York. After retiring, they moved to Marshfield where she worked for 11 years at St I Joseph's Hospital in housekeeping. She was an active member erf St John's Catholic Church and for the past three years die Schmidt's have resided at Norris Manor in Marshfield.

She is survived by her husband, George, of Marshfield; a daughter-in-law, LaVonne Schmidt of Marshfield; two grandsons, Mike (Cheryl) Schmidt and Tom Schmidt of Marshfield; and three great-grandchildren, Patrick, Jeremy and Mikayla Schmidt of Marshfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters; and her only son, Duane "Pat" Schmidt.
