Biddle, Clarence F. "Jim" (6 DEC 1936 – 28 SEP 2019)

Clarence F. 'Jim' Biddle, age 82, of Thorp, WI, passed away at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, WI. Rev. Daniel Stiemann will officiate, Rev. David Sommerfeld will be presenting the message, and burial will follow in Butler Cemetery, rural Thorp. Pallbearers will be: Greg Chewning, Dennis Moskiewicz, Dion Moskiewicz, Trent Moskiewicz, Derek Johnson, and Jason Rymer. Visitation will be held at the church, on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Clarence Frank Biddle was born on December 6, 1936, in Thorp, WI, the son of Frank H. and Julia (Fillo) Biddle. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Greenwood and Thorp schools. As a young man, Jim went out west to South Dakota, where he worked on a ranch for two years. He returned to Thorp and then moved to Milwaukee, where he worked for Briggs & Stratton. Jim was united in marriage to Shirley A. Spangler on February 2, 1957, in Milwaukee. He later worked at Sealtest Dairy, Borden Dairy, and American Motors. In 1976, they moved back to Thorp and Jim went to work for Blue Moon Cheese until retiring in 1998.

He served as a supervisor for the Town of Butler for 20 years, was a member of the Ojibwa Bowhunter's Club, Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club, and was in the Wisconsin Bowhunter's Hall of Fame.

Jim had many interests, but especially enjoyed hunting, fishing in bass tournaments, and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Thorp; three children: Pam (Billy) Chewning of Lawton, OK, Dawn (Ted) Tabbert of Greenville, WI, Mark (Jean) Biddle of Greenville, WI; eight grandchildren: Gregory Chewning, Kaelynn (James) Culler, Krista (Christian) Johnston, Therese Tabbert, Samuel Tabbert, Gianna Tabbert, Derek (Kimberly) Johnson, Jamie (Jason) Rymer; 15 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Alyssa, Rylee, Angelina, William, Selah, Gideon, Lexi, Natalie, Milani, Titan, Ethan, Bennett, Everett, Bryceni; one sister, Betty (Dennis) Moskiewicz of Rockport, TX; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
