Herdrich, Elsie A. (29 APR 1905 – 8 MAY 1995)
LOYAL — Elsie Agnes (Luchterhand) Herdrich, 90, Marshfield, formerly of
Loyal, died at 7:50 a.m. May 8, 1995, at
Haven Rest Home in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Loyal. The Rev. Joseph Kraly will officiate.
Burial will be in Loyal Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as
pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rinka Funeral Home and
again from 10 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
She was born April 29, 1905, in the town of Sherman, to Frank and , Alvina (Wehling)
Luchterhand and was raised on the family farm. After graduating from Loyal
High School, she worked at the Albert Davel Co. and then at the B.W. Colby
Co., both in Loyal, as a clerk.
She was married to Reno Herdrich on May 14, 1925, at her parents' home in
Loyal and bought a farm with her husband. They farmed in the town of Beaver
until retiring in 1959. She then worked at Skogmo's in Loyal until shortly
after her husband's death on Aug. 7, 1972. She then moved into Loyal in
1973. She resided in Loyal until entering the Haven Rest Home in Marshfield
in January 1995. She was active in her church where she taught Sunday school
and played the organ. She also enjoyed traveling with her' husband, crafts,
gardening and playing cards.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church Women's
Group, a charter member of Beaver Center Homemaker's Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Norma (Harold) Dahl and Margaret
Kollmansberger, all of Loyal, and Veryl (Richard) Holmes of Wausau; two
sons, Harold (Janice) Herdrich of Ashland, Ore., and Robert (Dorothy)
Herdrich of Eau Claire; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Edward
Greeler of Neillsville; and many nieces and nephews. She had 13
grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; two brothers and one
sister.
Memorials in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church Elevator Fund will be
greatly appreciated.
