Bower, Carol Elizabeth (24 April 1943 – 1 October 2019)

Carol E. Bower, age 76, of Willard, passed away on October 1, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center, in Neillsville.

Carol Elizabeth Fisher was born on April 24, 1943 in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Clarence G. and Elisabeth M. (Pagel) Fisher. She was raised and educated in Thorp, graduating from Thorp High School in 1961. After high school, Carol attended Madison Business College in Madison. She was united in marriage to Allen W. Bower on February 2, 1963 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, in Thorp. They lived in Big Bend, where Carol worked for the Edgewood Golf Course for more than 20 years. After retiring in 2001, they moved to Rock Dam where she resided until her death.

She had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing golf, going to casinos, sewing, quilting, and attending her grandchildren's events.

Carol was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and its PCCW, Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club, Hay Creek Rocker's, Clark County Homemakers, Rock Dam Lake Association, and was a volunteer for the Thorp Blood Bank.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Allen, of Willard; her 3 children: David (Jackie) of Owen, Daniel (Deb Teubert) of Edgerton, Christyne (Grant) Schultz of Marinette; her 6 grandchildren: Luke Bower, Kyla (Zachary) Wussow, Katelyn Bower, Riley Schultz, Anya Bower, Madeline Schultz; her 2 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Mariah; her 6 siblings: Nancy (Duke) Haslow of Thorp, Mary Beth (Gene) Menden of Pewaukee, Bill (Donna) Fisher of Waterford, Susan (Rol) DeBauche of Thorp, Laurie Jo (John) Sass of Chisago City, MN, Karla (Joe) Stafford of Sun Prairie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father: Karl Hutter; her sister: Kathleen Fisher-Hatfield; and her great-granddaughter: Bailey Bower.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu will officiate, and burial will be held in Butler Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again at the church, on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
