Gaede, Marlowe M. (30 APR 1936 - 6 OCT 2019)
Marlowe M. Gaede, age 83, of Withee, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, at
Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at Saint
John’s Lutheran Church in Withee. The Reverend Daniel Vang will preside.
Family and friends are welcome from 11 a.m. until the time of the service
Friday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is
entrusted with the arrangements.
Marlowe was born on April 30, 1936, the son of Lester and Vollie (Schwerin)
Gaede in Bremer County, Iowa. On July 11, 1954, Marlowe was united to Ruth
Zabel in marriage. He worked as a carpenter, mechanic, truck driver, farmer,
and at Tombstone Pizza, where he retired from after ten years.
Marlowe was a big NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed watching boxing, the Packers
and the Vikings. Marlowe cherished his family and will greatly be missed.
Marlowe is survived by his wife, Ruth; seven children: Dean (Diane) Gaede of
Neillsville, Verlaine (Scott) Wozniak of Withee, Vernon (Linda) Gaede of
Chippewa Falls, Teresa Gaede (Rick Edblom) of Withee, Karen (Brian) Murphy
of Portage, Brian Gaede of Owen and Valitha Gaede (Dewey Plamann) of
Merrill; 22 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren
(one on the way); 24 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
and nine step-great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two
brothers: Milton (Margie) and Perry (Stacey); five sisters: Marcella Zabel,
Maxine Brocka, Phyllis Rodgers, Patricia Stangle and Paula Wehling (Daniel
Love); one sister-in-law: Lois Gaede; numerous nieces and nephews; friends
and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Melvin and Phillip;
one sister: Marlys; three children: Pamela (in infancy), Darrell and Jeffrey
Gaede; four brothers-in-law; and one grandson, Ryc.
