Henry, Robert “Bob” (21 February 1923 – 13 October 2019)
Robert “Bob” Henry, 96, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home in
Neillsville, with his life companion, Alice Barrette, by his side.
Bob was born on Feb 21, 1923 and was raised, educated and worked in
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Bob sought work in the banking industry
working for Canadian Bank of Commerce working his way up to Bank Manager. He
served in the Canadian Army during WWII. After the war Bob went back to work
for the bank and that’s where he met Elizabeth Stokes. They were married in
1947. In 1966 Bob took a job with a bank in Seattle, WA and moved his family
there and eventually became a U.S. citizen. Bob also worked for the Bank of
California. After he retired in 1984 they spent the winters in Gold Canyon,
AZ. After the death of his wife he spent many years with Alice Barrette,
also having lost her husband.
Bob loved living on Puget Sound and watching the ships, fishing for fresh
Salmon for supper and crabbing. In his later years he took up snow skiing,
running, playing tennis and was an avid golfer. Bob and Alice moved to
Neillsville, in 2017.
Bob is survived by his life companion, Alice Barrette of Neillsville, 2
daughters, Colleen Kainz and Jo Ann Henry-Seword and 2 grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth and 2 sons,
William and Guy.
