Schmidt Named October Junior Kiwanian
Callie Schmidt
The Current Miss Neillsville was able to add one more accolade to her resume
during the month of October.
Miss Neillsville Callie Schmidt, daughter of Brad and Carrie Schmidt, was
named the Neillsville Junior Kiwanian for October. She has participated in
the Kiwanis Club’s Monday meetings.
“A broad range of achievements, participation and volunteer activities mark
this outstanding student’s high school career,” Kiwanian Brent Shoup wrote
in a statement.
Schmidt is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
She is also a part of the fine arts club, STEM Club and Spanish club at the
high school. As a member of the STEM Club, she placed third in the Rube
Goldberg competition.
She was also selected to the Cloverbelt Conference Honors Band, and she
received first place in the regional solo and ensemble competition.
Athletically, she has been a part of volleyball and softball.
In the community, Schmidt is active with volunteer work, playing piano for
church services and assisting with various events, in addition to being Miss
Neillsville.
“The Junior Kiwanian program gives recognition to top-performing students
like Callie Schmidt who have demonstrated strong academic achievement, shown
good leadership qualities and strive to make use of their talents.” Shoup
wrote.
“The Neillsville club wishes her continuing success in her future
endeavors.”
Following graduation this spring, Schmidt plans to attend Marquette
University to major in physics.
