The Cecil Tormey American Legion Post 118 will celebrate their centennial on
Sunday, October 27. Post 118 was chartered on October 25 in 1919.
The celebration will take place at the Thorp American Legion Hall, 500 N.
Washington Street. From 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. they will hold a social
hour, followed by the program from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with dinner to
follow.
Distinguished guests who will attend this event include:
• David Wischer, the Department of WI American Legion Commander from
Milwaukee. He has been a member of the American Legion for 39 years and his
focus is on preventing the loss of our service men and women from suicide.
• Joanie Dickerson, the Department of WI American Legion Auxiliary President
from Bagley will also attend. She works tirelessly with the Wisconsin's
Homeless Female Veterans ALA Grant Fund.
• Timothy Hyma, the Department of WI American Legion Riders Association
President from Sparta.
• Denise Rohan, past National American Legion Commander.
• Frank Kostka, past Department of WI American Legion Commander from
Ashland.
