Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Lilligren of Anoka, Minnesota visited a week at the
Herman Held home, and also while in Owen visited Henry Wollum and the Martin
Carlson home.
Dr. and Mrs. R.E. Arneson entertained guests at a potluck supper party on
Saturday night and showed movies of his Norway trip. Attending were Henry
Wollum, the Andersons, the Rinecks, the Kadolphs, the Jaspers, Shirley S.
Kelley, Marion Johnson and Harold Parker. Especially interesting were movies
taken inside the Norwegian homes and the trip to the Fjords.
Mrs. Grace Finnila enjoyed a three week vacation travelling with her brother
and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. John Blum, Austin, Minnesota. They visited their
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Blum in Dalles Oregon, and their niece, Mr. and
Mrs. Rick Westin and family. Also time was spent sightseeing and visiting
such places as Glacier National Park, The World's Fair in Spokane, Crater
Lake in the Cascades, the Jedediah Smith Red Woods in California, and
Yellowstone National Park. They also stopped in Colorado Springs to visit
her daughter, Pfc. Mary Finnila, who accompanied them home for a short visit
before leaving Tuesday, October 2 on a 16 month tour of duty in Germany.
