Korenkewicz, Anastasia (10 JUL 1900 – 12 OCT 1974)

Mrs. Martin Korenkewicz, a resident of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 17 years, passed away at the Thorp Care Center Saturday, October 12, 1974. She had been hospitalized and suffering failing health repeatedly since the first of the year.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am. Tuesday, October 15 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp, with Father William Buchner officiating. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery (near Withee).

Serving as pallbearers were Dick Jankowski, Gordie Thorson, M. Malinowski, Joe Panek, Jack Haizel and John Mikrut.

Mrs. Korenkewicz, nee Anastasia Proeba, 74, was born July 10, 1900 in Poland. She came to this country as a young woman, and on May 20, 1922 married Martin Korenkewicz, who survives her, in a ceremony performed in Chicago. The couple later moved to the Thorp area, and in 1957 to Owen.

She is survived by her husband, Martin; three sons, Art, Dolan, Illinois, Bob, Cedar Lake, Indiana, and Donald of Owen; three daughters, Mrs. Corky (Irene) Adams, Fort Worth, Texas, Mrs. Clyde (Lucille) Arnsiger, Miami, Florida, and Mrs. Dick (Dorothy) Jankowski, Chippewa Falls; a sister, Mrs. Jack (May) Kolinda of Los Angeles, California, and seven grandchildren.
