Saltis, Charlotte (14 DEC 1946 – 27 OCT 1974)
Miss Charlotte Saltis, 27, route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), was killed
instantly in an accident that happened about 2:45 a.m. on County Trunk N,
southeast of Owen.
Miss Saltis was found dead by a passing motorist about 7 a.m. beside Clark
County Highway N, about six miles southeast of Owen, in the town of Green
Grove, her car apparently having overturned on top of her.
At 10 o’clock yesterday morning, Wednesday, October 30, 1974, funeral
services for Miss Charlotte Saltis, 27, were conducted from Kraut-Maurina
Funeral Home. The Rev. Steven Hasenstein, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.), officiated, and burial was made at
the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Serving as pallbearers were Emil Horner, Arnold Jogadzinski, Bruce Brecht,
John Kudingo, Max Sears, and Dennis Witt.
Miss Saltis was born December 14, 1946 in Chicago, and attended the Schurz
School in the Chicago area. She worked for a candy company in Chicago and
was also employed by I.L.C. Products, Conrath in Spencer. She resided in
this area since 1969, and her last employment was at Figi’s Incorporated in
Marshfield.
She is survived by her father, Peter Saltis, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Carl
(Mary Ann) Pipkorn, Owen; two step-brothers, Russell Grawet, Waseca,
Minnesota, and Delbert Grawet, Chicago; a step-sister, Mrs. Lester (Irene)
Moding, Spencer, Iowa; and her grandmother, Mrs. Charlotte Dumler, Owen.
Her mother preceded her in death in 1967.
