Lori Bach was presented a check for $75 at a meeting of the Catholic Society of
Foresters Thursday night for being the first place winner in a poster contest
sponsored nationally by the Foresters. Mrs. Catherine Ellenbecker, president of
the St. Louis Court, made the presentation.
Lori is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bach, Route 1, Dorchester.

The Rev. Francis Rushman performed the marriage ceremony between Donna Jean
Lamont and Craig Robert Marvin, Sun Prairie, Saturday, June 4, 1977, at 5 p.m.
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.
Organist for the occasion was Mrs. Bernadette Gabriel. Richard Zassenhaus and
Ruth Gabriel sang during the ceremony.
After the ceremony the couple was escorted around town by a black and red surrey
drawn by a pair of matched pinto ponies.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Angus Lamont, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs.
George Marvin, Sun Prairie.
An ivory gown of silk organza and Venice lace, featuring high neckline and long
full cuffed sleeves, was worn by the bride. Lace edged the circular veil held by
a Venice lace Camelot headpiece. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses, white
mums and baby’s breath.
Empire style jersey knit gowns of coral, lime green and yellow were worn by the
bridal attendants. They carried bouquets of white carnations, colored mums and
baby’s breath.
Maid of honor was Peggy Lamont, Greenwood, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Diane Krebsbach, River Falls and Mrs. Judy Rapp, Jefferson.
Tom Ganser, Minneapolis, was best man. Groomsmen were George Milbrath and Jerry
Eckes, Eau Claire.
Ushers were Mike Lamont and Scott Marvin.
A dinner, dance and reception followed at Dorchester Memorial Hall.
The bride is a first grade teacher in the Sheboygan school system. The
bridegroom is a computer analyst in Milwaukee.
The couple will live in Sheboygan Falls.

Scheree L. Smith, Abbotsford, and Charles A. Krueger, Stevens Point, were united
in marriage Saturday, May 21, 1977 at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby.
Officiating at the 1 p.m. ceremony was the Rev. Robin O. Fink. Dave Strathman
was organist and Gary Neustadter, Stevens Point, was soloist.
Parents of the couple are Mrs. Geraldine Smith, Sun Prairie, and Clifford Smith,
Prairie Du Chien, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Krueger, Colby.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an A-line gown of organza over
taffeta with imported Venice lace. Accenting the gown’s Victorian Yoke was edged
by a triple layer ruffle. A flounce bordered the hemline of the chapel length
train. Her matching chapel length veil was edged with Venice lace. She carried a
bouquet of yellow roses, yellow and white carnations, baby’s breath, stephanotis
and ivy.
Cathy Smith, Monroe, was amid of honor. Joan Karaba, Eau Claire, Cheryl Gosse,
Madison, and Mrs. Sandy Yelk, Cottage Grove, were bridesmaids.
They each wore a yellow knit halter dress with a floral cape. Yellow pompoms and
baby’s breath were arranged in their hair. Each carried a bouquet of white and
blue daisies.
Attending the bridegroom as best man was Glenn Weiler, Wausau. Groomsmen were
Greg Gorke, Dorchester, Cliff Schjoneman, Randem, Washington, and Jeff Gosse,
Logan Utah. Completing the wedding party were ushers, Robert Gosse, Colby,
Michael Wiese, Colby, and Garry Tribbey, Madison.
A reception, dinner and dance followed at Dorchester Memorial Hall.
The bride, a graduate of Sun Prairie Senior High School, graduated in 1976 from
the University of Wisconsin School of X-Ray Technology. She is a radiologic
technologist at the Marshfield Clinic.
Krueger graduated from Colby High School in 1969 and from UW-Stevens Point in
1974, and from the UW-Oshkosh in 1977 with a Master’s degree in business
administration. He is an auditor for Sentry Insurance, Stevens Point.
The couple will live in Stevens Point.

Kasmauskas, John (13 Dec 1893 – 7 June 1977)
Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, 1977 at 11 a.m. for John Kasmauskas,
age 83, Colby, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby.
The Rev. Francis Rushman officiated. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Kasmauskas passed away June 7, 1977 at his home.
He was born in Lithuania. He married the former Barbara Kenta on July 20, 1919,
in Chicago. He came to America in 1913 and lived in Chicago until 1951, when the
family then moved to the Colby area.
Besides his widow, he is survived by one son, John Kassie, Route 2, Colby, one
daughter, Mrs. Helen Welch, Griffith, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, and 6
great-grandchildren.

Thomas Kiefer, Jeffrey Venzke and FFA advisor John Slipek.
