Two Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) area brothers, David and Robert Christie, now both
15 years of age, received an award Thursday evening at the State Convention of
the Wisconsin Count Police Association at Tomah. The awards were for acts of
heroism by the brothers in an auto accident August 5, 1975 in the Town of Thorp.
In late August the boys were honored at a luncheon at Thorp for their efforts,
and have also been recommended for a Governor's Safety Award.
The Christie brothers, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Christie, Route 1, Thorp,
rescured at least seven persons from a burning van after it had struck a bridge
abutment in the Town of Thorp on the night of August 5.
