Death of Mrs. Perry Sullivan

Mrs. Perry Sullivan passed away at St. Mary's hospital at Sparta on Thursday, August 25, 1927, after an illness of about a week. at the age of 29 years, 7 months and 1 day.

The news of the sudden death of this good woman came as a great shock to her many friends in this community, very few of whom knew of her illness. She was taken to the hospital only a couple of days previous to her death, having apparently been making satisfactory progress.

The funeral services were held from the home at 2 o'clock, and the Little Norway Lutheran church at 3 o'clock, on Saturday afternoon, Rev. C. E. Skolen officiating. There was special music rendered by the Little Norway choir. Many friends were in attendance at the services. Interment was made at the church cemetery.

Cora Beatrice Peterson was born in the town of Albion, this county, on November 11, 1898, the daughter of Peter O. and Caroline Peterson. Her youth was spent at the homestead. She was ambitious of become a professional nurse, and took up her course of training at the Milwaukee hospital.

On October 28, 1919, she was married at the Lutheran parsonage in this city to Perry Sullivan, Rev. L. S. Marvick officiating.

She had since devoted her attention to her home duties, but she continued her interest in her profession, and the past couple of years she had opened her home to patients requiring special care and who found it inconvenient to be taken elsewhere to a hospital. She was very proficient in her work, and she had that broad sympathy with those who came into her charge which rendered her service still more valuable.

She is survived by her husband and one little son, Atley, her parents, four brothers, Pliney, Merlin, Raymond and Norman, and two sisters, Misses Esther and Harriet.

She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church from her girlhood, and she was always loyal to her church and its creed.

The many friends who had known her from her childhood deeply sympathize with her husband and little son, and her parents and their family, in the great sorrow which has so suddenly come to them. She was, indeed, a good woman, one whose life was devoted to kindly ministering service. She was an affectionate wife and mother and a devoted daughter and sister. She had a pleasant manner and friendly way which endeared her to all who knew her.
