Opelt, Diane L. (30 AUG 1975)

Saturday, August 30, 1975, at 4:00 p.m. was the time Miss Diane L. Opelt, route 1, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Kevin J. Syth, Route 1, Greenwood, chose as their wedding day. The wedding took place at the bride's home, with the Rev. Gary Clark, Neillsville, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Opelt, route 1, Greenwood, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth, route 1, Greenwood.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was seen in a long white dress of flocked organza, with lace accenting the midriff. She carried a bouquet of pink and yellow roses, daisies and baby's breath, and wore flowers in her hair of the same kind.

Miss Jody Opelt, Milwaukee, was the maid of honor, and she was attired in a long, flowered, princess style dress accented by Swiss lace. She carried a bouquet of daisies, carnations, and baby's breath.

Mr. Alexander Grant, Green Bay, was the best man.

Ushering duties were performed by Peter Opelt and Kent Syth.

Patrice Pakiz, Jim Antrim, Mary Jo Wagner, and Dean Stieglitz sang and played for the ceremony.

A reception and dance followed the ceremony at the American Legion Hall at Loyal.

The new Mrs. Syth is a 1971 graduate of Greenwood High School, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in May 1975, with a B.S. in Biology. She has been employed with Neillsville Job Service (summer position). The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High School in 1971, and is attending the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and will graduate in December 1975.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Syth will make their home at 509 South Barstow, Eau Claire.

Opelt, Diane Lee (Marriage - 30 August 1975)

Miss Diane Lee Opelt became the bride of Kevin John Syth in a 4 p.m. ceremony performed Saturday at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Opelt, Rt. 1 Greenwood, by the Rev. Gary Clark. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Syth, also of Rt. 1. The Loyal American Legion Hall was the setting later for a reception and a dance.

Presented in marriage by her parents, the bride appeared in a gown of flocked white organza styled with a lace-accented midriff. Her bouquet of pink and yellow roses, daisies and baby’s breath matched the flowers in her hair.

Maid of honor Jody Opelt wore a flowered, princess style gown accented with Swiss lace. Daisies, carnations and baby’s breath formed her bouquet.

Alexander Grant, Green Bay, served as bestman. Ushers were Peter Opelt and Kent Syth.

Vocalists were Patrice Pakiz, Jim Antrim, Mary Jo Wagner and Dean Stieglitz. Miss Pakiz also played the electric piano and the guitar, Antrim, the guitar, and Miss Wagner, the electric piano.

The new Mrs. Syth is a 1971 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 1975 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She was employed by the Job Service in Neillsville during the summer. Her husband also graduated from Greenwood High School in 1971. He will be a December 1975 graduate of the UW-Eau Claire.

The newlyweds are living at 509 South Barstow in Eau Claire.
