Holman, Ruby (Marriage – 7 April 1951)

Miss Ruby Holman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Holman of Humbird, became the bride of Merlon Schoengarth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schoengarth of Greenwood, at a ceremony performed in the Methodist Church at Humbird on April 7, 1951, at 2 o’clock.

The Rev. Richard Brooks performed the double ring ceremony before 75 guests. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a gown of white satin, fashioned with a full length train. Her fingertip veil was of lace and it fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet of white calla lilies and pink carnations. Her matron of honor was Mrs. Bernard Walker, who was attired in blue taffeta. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white jonquils. The bridesmaid was Pauline Peterson. She was dressed in a pink gown and carried yellow and white jonquils. The bride and her attendants wore matching necklaces.

Bernard Walker was the best man and Lester Holman, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Robert Schoengarth and Eugene Holman were ushers. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride for approximately 75 guests.

The bride is a graduate of the Alma Center High School. The groom is a graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed at Laabs Dairy at Willard. The young couple will be at home at Willard after April 11.

Guests from out of town attending the ceremony included Ed, George and Donald McCauley of Rockford, Ill., and Robert Schleeter of Rockford, Ill.
