Wolf, Jerome W. “Jerry” (13 February 1932 – 27 November 2008) With Flag

Jerome W. “Jerry” Wolf, 76, of Black River Falls and formerly of Melrose died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, in the Family Heritage Care Center in Black River Falls.

Jerry was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Bangor to John and Frances (Gronemus) Wolf. He was raised in Bangor and attended the St. Joseph Ridge School.

He served in the navy from December 1950 until October 1954. While in the service, he attended boat handling school and radio communication school.

Jerry married Ila J. Millard in Bangor April 16, 1955. The couple lived in Beloit, and they were later divorced.

He worked at Midstates Concrete in Beloit for 17 years, and he worked at the Lutz Feed Mill in Melrose for 24 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post #439 in Melrose.

Jerry was a past member of the Melrose United Methodist Church, and he was a member of the Black River Falls United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Ray Wolf, Janesville, and Dale Wolf, Beloit, and a daughter, Debra Schmitz, Milton; two sisters, Vera Siess, Tomah, and Molly Corcoran, La Crescent, MN; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Wendell, Al, Lee, Victor and Norbert; a sister, Mary Germann; and his dear friend, Janice (Johnson) Musser.

Funeral services for Jerome W. “Jerry” Wolf were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321), Black River Falls. Pastor Kathleen Jury officiated, and burial was in the Melrose Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home Saturday from 1:30 until the time of services.
