Kyser, Larry J. (22 August 1951 –17 March 2009)

Larry J. Kyser, 57, of rural Sparta died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday, March 17, 2009.

Larry was born Aug. 22, 1951, to Jacob and Lucille (Hass) Kyser. He was united in marriage Nov. 29, 1969 to Cathy Stern.

Larry was a lifelong farmer and worked at Nordstrom Construction for 25 years. He then started Kyser & Son Bobcat & Construction Inc. The last few years he worked with his brother, Dennis, and a son-in-law, Pat, in the construction business.

He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting on his land, trips out west, fishing in Canada and shooting trap. He helped start the Black River Watershed Deer Management program. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and playing cards with family and friends. He was a kind and loving son, husband, brother, father, grandpa and friend.

Larry is survived by his wife, Cathy, of 39 years; two sons, Tim (Jamie) Kyser of Beloit and Scot (Ginny) Kyser of Tomah; three daughters, Tina (Dan) Braun of Sparta, Kim (Pat) Sacia of Sparta and Danielle (Rob) Unruh of Glenwood City; 15 grandchildren, Ashley, Jenelle, Tim Jr. and Larry Kyser, Alex, Brandon and Elizabeth Kyser, Aubrie, Alyssa, Devinne (Sye) Peyton and Jerren Braun, Colin and Calette Lockington and Carter Sacia; his parents, Jacob and Lucille Kyser of Sparta; two brothers, Dennis (Andrea) Kyser of West Salem and Peter (Susan) Kyser of Sparta; five sisters, Mary Lou (Butch) Shawley of Melrose, Peggy(Jim) Trachta of Melrose, Linda Sylvester of Sparta, Cynda (Mike) Hemmersbach of Sparta and penny (Terry) Kyser of Black River Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and two godsons, Christopher Kyser and A. G. Stern. He was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Tom and Julia Kyser and Clayton and Elvira Hass; his father-in-law, Wilmer stern; and brothers-in-law, Steve Sylvester and John Saley.

Larry will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Melrose United Methodist church at 1 p.m. with Reverent Lon Jury officiating. Burial was in the Melrose Cemetery.

Friends called at the church Friday, March 20, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday from noon until the services.

Zwickey Funeral Home, Melrose Chapel assisted the family.
