Haarsma, Craig R. (23 June 1984 – 6 April 2009)

Craig R. Haarsma, 24, of rural Blair died Monday, April 6, 2009 in his home.

Craig was born June 23, 1984, in Sioux Center, IA, to Kelly and Miriam (Van Riessen) Haarsma. Craig and his family moved to Blair in 1999. He graduated from Blair-Taylor High School in 2003. Craig enjoyed his car, video games and attending his brother’s sporting events.

Craig is survived by his parents, Kelly and Miriam Haarsma of Blair; three brothers, Dustin, Luke and Michael, all of Blair; a sister, Nicole (Mike) Moyer of Blair; a nephew, Zakary Moyer of Blair; his grandparents, Art and Joan Van Riessen of Sioux Center, IA, and Gloria Haarsma of Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, uncles and cousins, Rob (Pam) Van Riessen of Sioux Center, IA and their children, Angie and Brett, Gary (Roxanne) Van Riessen of Kansas City, MO, and their children, Kelly, Erec and Tyler, Lesa (Maynard) Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD, and their son, Nick, and Michelle (James) Gareats of Sioux Falls, SD, and their children, Emily, Hannah and Ashley.

Craig was preceded in death by his grandfather, Peter Haarsma.

Visitation was held Thursday, April 9, 2009, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair.

Private family services were held Friday, April 10, 2009.
