He enlisted in the United States Air Force Air National Guard, serving from 1949 through 1952 in the 11th Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, KY. Irv was employed as an evaporation operator at Ludeman’s South Alma Cheese Factory for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of the Hixton-Taylor American Legion Post #368.
Irv will be remembered as a very caring, family-oriented individual who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and who loved to flirt and tease. He was always very protective of his family, particularly of his grandchildren. He enjoyed working on automobiles and going for rides in his convertible and on his motorcycle. He enjoyed buying and trading cars and campers, always on the lookout for his next vehicle. He spent many summers camping with his family in Warrens and Hatfield. He was a very generous person, always willing to help out those in need.
