Peter O. "Pete" Peterson
Peter O. "Pete" Peterson, 62, of Melrose and formerly of Black River Falls, died on Friday, January 3, 1997, at his home in Melrose.
He was born on June 8, 1934, in Black River Falls to Norman and Esther (Hanson) Peterson. He was raised in the Town of Irving and he graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1953.
Pete drove semi for Midwest Haulers out of St. Paul, Minn., and he drove milk truck for Alan Sampson of Melrose.
Surviving are one son, Timothy Peterson, of Arcadia; one daughter, Kristin Little, of Independence; his mother, Esther Peterson, of Black River Falls; one brother, Vernon (Alice) Peterson, of Black River Falls; two sisters, Grace Long, of Sacramento, Calif., and Martha (Bill) Fox of Osseo; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman; and one sister, Norma Hart.
Funeral services were Tuesday morning, January 7, 1997, at 11 a.m. from the funeral chapel. Pastor Calvin Thoreson officiated and burial was in Little Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Pallbearers were Timothy, Gregory, and Eugene Peterson, Willis Hart, Alan Sampson, and Bernhart Gilbertson.
