Bernard J. Motsch, 79, of Black River Falls, and formerly of Chicago, IL, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls.
Bernard John Motsch was born June 14, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, to Albert J. and Marie L. (Corbett) Motsch. He was raised in Chicago, IL.
He was a Navy veteran who served in Cuba. Bernard was employed as a Union Local 11 roofer in Chicago for 35 years.
Bernard enjoyed watching sports on television and was a devoted Chicago sports fan. He also loved the Irish pubs.
He will be extremely missed and remembered forever in our hearts.
He was the loving father of Timothy (Beverly) Motsch, Tammy (Dean) Peterson, Tracy (Maria) Motsch and Teri (late Benito) Bahena; beloved grandfather of Amber, Courtney, Shannon, Meghan, Kristofer, Shane, Liam, Savannah, Brittney and Bianka. He is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Ficilone, Josephine Tatosian and Barbara Ann; and a brother, Albert (Marg) Motsch.
In addition to his beloved wife, Joan, Bernard was preceded in death by two grandsons, Dean Bernard Olson and Kevin Olson; a brother, Vincent; and a sister, Mary Motsch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernard J. Motsch will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at St. Giles Catholic Church, Oak Park, IL. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, Dundee, IL.
Family and friends were invited for visitation Tuesday, Mary 5, 2009, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ahern Funeral Home, 6938 W. North Ave. Chicago, IL 60607
