Fromm, Bernhard Otto (14 May 1929 – 10 May 2009
Bernhard Otto Fromm, 79, of Hatfield and formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009, at his home in Hatfield.
He was born May 14, 1929, to Bernhard C. and Adeline (Grimms) Fromm in Chicago, IL. Bernhard grew up in Chicago and graduated from Lane Technical High School.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Slahor Sept. 19, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicago.
Bernhard worked as an optician, where he was a lens grinder, for about 10 years. He then went to work for Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago as a darkroom tech for 26 years.
He and Mary Ann had owned their property in Hatfield for 32 years. Bernhard enjoyed woodworking and, in the past years, fishing and also preparing and consuming wonderful cooking.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; and children, Cynthia Fromm and Kurt Fromm, both of Grayslake, IL.
Bernhard was preceded in death by his parents, Bernhard and Adeline; sister, Marcella Matthey; brother, Warren Fromm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2009, 6 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Reverend Meg Erickson will be officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 15, 2009, 11 a.m. in Hatfield Cemetery, Hatfield.
Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday, May 14, 2009, from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
