Jaquish, James Nathan (2 October 1970 – 3 May 2009)
James Nathan Jaquish, 38, of Eau Claire went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 3, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. James’ life was untimely taken by an aneurism.
James was born to Ardis and Donald Jaquish Jr. Oct. 2, 1970. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1989. James completed the apprenticeship program through the Local 434 and became a journey-man plumber. He married Emily Jaye Gilpin Oct. 21, 2006, in Eau Claire.
James resided in Fall Creek for the past 10 years. James attended Valley Brook Church for much of the past 12 years and most recently attended church at Jacob’s Well. He was known for his soft and gentle kindness and compassion for those he came in contact with. He was a true believer in service, fellowship and community.
As James was an organ/tissue donor, the Jaquish family would like to acknowledge that James gave the most precious gift that anyone could give, the gift of life to his fellow man.
James enjoyed spending a great deal of time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons Brenden and Nathan and doting on his daughter, Emilia. James took great pride in his children. He practiced daily the biblical principles of love and respect in his marriage to his wife, Emily. James was a proud, active and dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He entered into the 12-step program nearly seven years ago and made it a way of life. He had an impact on so many lives through his humility, service and love. The program gave him encouragement, strength and hope, which he passed on to others. His caring and giving will be desperately missed by his recovery family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Emily; children Brenden Jaquish of New Haven, IN, Nathan Jaquish of Eau Clarie and Emilia Jaquish of Fall Creek; parents, Ardis Jaquish of Mondovi and Donald (Babbette) Jaquish, Jr. of Eau Claire; three brothers, Todd (Leslie) Jaquish of Eau Clarie, Jason (Cari) Jaquish of Fall Creek, Arthur Jaquish (fiancé Jill Mataczynski) of Eau Claire; one sister, Louise Jaquish (fiancé Bronson Weiss) of Durand; and three stepsisters, Jill (Forrest) Schoen of Eleva, Jennifer (Jeff) White of Menomonie and Erin (Nick) Lindstrom of Rock Falls; and grandparents, Donald and Eunice Jaquish.
James was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Simon and Esther Tweet of Eau Claire.
Family and friends called from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Fuller-“Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Rd., Eau Claire, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at Wesleyan Church, 2405 Keith St. Eau Claire, WI.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Wesleyan Church. Pastor Nathan Anderson of Valley Brook Church officiated. In lieu of flowers, a college educational account is being set up for his minor children Nathan and Emilia Jaquish (Jim Jaquish Minor Children Educational Fund).
