Peterson, Gertrude A. (3 Apr. 1916 – 10 July 2000)

Gertrude A. (Mrs. Price C.) Peterson, age 84, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, died on Monday, July 10, 2000 in the Black River Memorial Hospital.

Gertrude was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on April 3, 1916 to Paul and Hilda (Mohns) Erdman. She was raised in Janesville and she graduated from the Janesville High School in 1935.

She married Price C. Peterson in Janesville on June 27, 1936. The couple lived in Janesville a brief time and then they moved to Jackson County in 1938.

Gert worked as an aide for many years at the Pine View Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Little Norway Lutheran Church, the Church Women, a Church Circle, and she was past president of the Sunday School.

She made many quit tops for the needy, and she loved to bake bread, caramel rolls and donuts and then pass them out to her friends and neighbors. She also loved to sew and do cannning. She loved animals.

Surviving are one son, Dean (Special friend Tammy Bauer) of Black River Falls; three daughters, Bonnie (Bud) Killinger of Black River Falls, Janet (Roger) Belisle of Phoenix, Arizona, and Linda (Bob) McCormack of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Esther Emerson of Black River Falls; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Price, on June 9, 1994; two sons, Pliney and Gary; and one brother, Julius.

Funeral services for Gertrude A. (Mrs. Price C.) Peterson were Friday, July 14, at 1 P. M. from the Little Norway Lutheran Church. Pastor Calvin Thoreson officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson's Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8 P.M. and at the church on Friday from noon until the time of services.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard and Ralph Wenzel.

Pallbearers were Jim Kauss, Joel Peterson, Jim Thomas, Eugene Peterson, Verland Peterson, and Gene Mason.
