Douglas C. Rhodes, 76,of Black River Falls died of a heart attack, Thursday, June 6, 1996 in his home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Eau Claire. He married Dorothy Savage on Nov. 4, 1939. They farmed in the Disco area until 1965, at which time they purchased the Dolly Madison franchise in the Black River Falls area. From 1970 to 1975, they owned and operated the Bass Lake Inn in Hayward. They later moved to their present home in Black River Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Kent (Martha) of Lingview, Texas, Scott (Sharon) of Shorewood, Minn., and Michael (Liz) of River Falls, Wis.; two daughters, Kathleen Peterson of Black River Falls and Susan (Nick) Meyers; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Wyss.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, River Falls, with the Rev. Jim Powers officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Cashman Mortuary, 225 S. 3rd St., River Falls.
