Charles A. Yeske
Charles A. Yeske, 78 years, 1047 1/2 Green Bay St., La Crosse, Wisc., passed away at the La Crosse Luther Hospital on Friday, July 7. He has been under doctors care constantly since February, then he had major surgery. Charles was born in Parlin, Germany, February 3, 1883 and embarked from Hamburg, Germany on the boat "Indiana" when he was two years old. He was married to Nellie Amborn Aug. 6, 1906, who preceded him in death in 1933 (February 11th). Charles has always lived in and around Jackson county up until 1934 when he was employed at Segelke and Kohlhaus Millwork Co. in La Crosse.
He is survived by his wife, Rose, seven sons, Maynard and Robert of Hixton, Wis., Harold, Merlin, Harley and James, all of La Crosse and Charles Jr. of Fresno, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Peter (Mildred) Nesseth, Mrs. Frank (Harriet) Svoboda, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Walters of La Crosse and Mrs. Jack (Alice) Sweet of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchldren and 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Fred of Melrose; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Balzer and Mrs. John (Emma) Vertheim of La Crosse. Also many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, Nellie, one daughter Esther and two sons, Spencer and Vilas; one brother and two sisters.
