Greyhair, Isaac “Ike” Wayne (25 July 1946 – 6 June 2009)
Isaac “Ike” Wayne Greyhair (Waka ja Sep Ga), 62, of Black River Falls passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at his home.
Ike was born July 25, 1946, in Nebraska to Raymond and Jessie (Tebo) Greyhair.
Ike and Mikki owned & operated Greythunder’s Bar for 25 years. He served as a general manager for Sands & Rainbow Bingo and housing inspector and legislator for the Ho-Chunk Nation.
He is survived by his special friend and companion of 30 years, Virginia (Mikki) Thundercloud; his children, Simone Greyhair, Lori (Virgil) Pettibone, Christopher (Jill Pettibone) Greyhair, Charles (Ileana Henry) Baker Sr., Timothy (Fern Rose) Baker, Robert Baker Sr., Alec Thundercloud MD, Ayako (Rick) Thundercloud-Poff and Terry (Melissa Marg) Deloney; brothers and sisters, Phyllis (Raymond) Armendariz, David (Lorraine) Mike, Phillip Mike, Regina Greyhair Scott and Elizabeth Greyhair; 31 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jessie (Tebo) Greyhair; children, Isaac Greyhair, Charles Greyhair, and Stanley Thundercloud; and a granddaughter, Precious Littlewolf.
Funeral services were held, Tuesday, June 9, 2009, 12 p.m. at the Greyhair residence, N8389 US 12, Black River Falls. Burial was in the Decorah Cemetery, rural Black River Falls. Daniel Youngthunder and Clayton Winneshiek officiated. Family and friends were invited for visitation Monday, June 8, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Greyhair residence. Visitation continued Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Pallbearers were: Frank Redbird, Tom Redbird III, Jerry Redbird, Curtis Redbird, Tony Redbird, Paul Youngthunder, Murt Greengrass and Jim Jensen.
The Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, assisted the family with arrangements.
