Comstock, John C (13 April 1953 – 12 August 2009)
John C. Comstock, 56, of Merrillan died Wednesday evening, Aug. 12, 2009, in Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.
John was born April 13, 1953, in Black River Falls to Cyrus and Gloria (Lange) Comstock.
He graduated from Alma Center Lincoln High School in 1971, and Aug. 19, 1972, John married Jean J. Bue in Merrillan.
John was an over-the-road truck driver. Currently, he was employed by Mack Priority Trucking of Eau Claire.
John loved the outdoors. He enjoyed splitting and cutting wood and watching Turner Classic Movies and Mexican wrestling on television.
He was a member of the Wrightsville Chapel.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; two daughters, Aemelia (Jimmy) Manier, West Branch, MI, and Amanda (Aaron) Strandberg, Merrillan; one brother, Leonard “Bill” (Barbara) Comstock, Neillsville; four sisters, Judith Comstock and Joann (Marvin) Johnson, both of Merrillan, Jean (Raymond) Berg, Humbird, and Susan (George) Geisler, Merrillan; three grandchildren, Zacharie, Iris and Seth; his mother-in-law, Margaret Bue, Merrillan; his brother-in-law, Jack (Sherry) Bue, Hatfield; and his two special canine companions, Homer and Stanley.
Funeral services for John C. Comstock were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321), Black River Falls. Reverend Terry Marg conducted services. Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
