Moberg, Amy (16 OCT 1900 – 22 SEP 1975)
Joint funeral services for John O. Moberg and his wife, Amy (Bolger) Moberg,
were held Friday, Sept, 26, 1975, at St. Joseph's Church, Escanaba, Michigan.
The couple died Tuesday night in a fire that destroyed their cottage at Garth on
Stonington Peninsula. The Mobergs spent the summers at Garth, and had made their
winter home in Escanaba.
The former Amy Bolger was born October 16, 1900 in Escanaba and had lived there
all her life. She was a graduate of Escanaba High School and had attended
Marquette University in Milwaukee. She retired as women's editor of the Escanaba
Dairly Press, after working there over forty years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and had been publicity chairman for the
Escanaba Women's Club for many years.
The couple was married on May 29, 1943.
Surviving Mrs. Moberg are a sister, Mrs. Roger (Eleanor) Hanley, and a brother,
John Bolger, both of Escanaba, and several nieces and nephews.
Those attending the funeral from this vicinity were Mr. and Mrs. Ellery Moberg,
Greenwood, Mr. and Mr.s Charles Klapatauskas, Withee, Mr. and Mrs. James
Horswill and Candace, Neillsville, Mrs. Steve Prewitt, Mosinee, Mr. and Mrs.
James Becker, Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Becker, Loyal.
