Evenson, Lloyd E (22 November 1926 – 14 September 2009) With Flag

 

Lloyd E. Evenson, 82, of Janesville, formerly of Black River Falls, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in Janesville.

 

He was born in Holmen Nov. 22, 1926, the son of Ole and Josie (Olson) Evenson.  He served in the U. S. Army as a MP.  He married Carol Renstrom May 26, 1951, in Onalaska.

 

Lloyd had been a Janesville resident for over 36 years and had been employed by JATCO, retiring after 35 years.  He lived in Black River Falls and Eau Claire while working for JATCO.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the American Legion.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, NASCAR and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Evenson; five children, Daniel (Jackie Marcec) Evenson of Louisiana, Todd (Jennifer) Evenson of Mayville, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Evenson of Janesville, Patty (Dennis Schultz) Poberezny of Menomonee Falls and Kristin (Noel) Zimmer of Janesville; four grandchildren, Katherine Evenson, Ryan Fagan, Tyler Evenson and Alex Evenson; one great-grandchild, Logan Yungerman; and two brothers, Gerald (Jean) Evenson and Vilas Evenson, both of Holmen.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orlando, and a sister, Constance.

 

A funeral service was held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at Schneider Apfel Schneider and Schneider Funeral Home, Janesville, with Chaplain David Brynelson officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Lasting Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Nursing Home or HospiceCare, Inc. of Janesville.
