Larson, Mary Rose (10 June 1921 – 31 August 2009)
Mary Rose (Mrs. Arthur M.) Larson, 88 of Black River Falls died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls.
Mary Rose Boyer was born June 10, 1921, in Black River Falls to Harry and Estella (Gilbert) Boyer. She graduated from Black River Falls High School. Mary Rose was a lifelong resident of Black River Falls.
She married Arthur M. Larson April 22, 1943, in Moorefield, TX. Following Arthur’s discharge from the U. S. Army, the couple settled in Black River Falls. Arthur Larson died Oct. 12, 2004.
At one time, Mary Rose was employed at the Jackson County Courthouse. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.
She was a member of the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church Tuesday Bible Study Group, the Dorcas-Elizabeth Circle of Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Christian Women and Partners of Black River Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed needlework, camping, card playing (especially Bridge), the Brewers, the Packers and the outdoors.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Bernie) Nortman of Beaver Dam and Susie (Bill) Homstad of Black River Falls; two sons, David (Kathy) Larson of Rice Lake and James (Terri) Larson of Stillwater, MN; eight grandchildren, Dean and John Norman, Eric, Mark and John Larson, Craig Glasspoole and Paige and Michael Larson; 11 great-grandchildren, Jack, Molly, Benjamin, Rachel, Alex and Mia Nortman, Andrew, Leah and Bradyn Glasspoole, and Anna and Maya Larson; a brother, Howard (Gerry) Boyer of Wayzata, MN; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Estella Boyer; a great-grandson, Adam Norman; and a sister, Jean Pomeroy.
Funeral services for Mary Rose Larson will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, both in Black River Falls.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls, and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until services.
