Alice I. Hagen, 85, of Black River Falls died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, in her home.
Alice Irene Berry was born June 14, 1924, in Muskegon, MI, to Roy Lester and Edna L. (Sonnenberg) Berry. She was raised in the Melrose and Taylor areas.
She was married to LaVern Peterson, and they were later divorced. She later married John Hagen, and he preceded her in death.
Alice was employed at various jobs in Black River Falls and later had been employed at Family Heritage Care Center as a food service supervisor for several years until retiring.
She enjoyed oil painting, quilting, fishing, crocheting, making stuffed animals, gardening and canning, weaving rugs and various other crafts.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie (George) Dickie of Black River Falls; two sons, Donald (Jeannette) Peterson of Altoona and Robert Sonny (Marcia) Hagen of Black River Falls; nine grandchildren, Jean Gooch, David (Joan) Dickie, John Peterson, Michelle (John) DeVine, Adam (Margaret) Clark, Joe (Kim) Clark, Paul (Melanie) Clark, Jessica Hagen and Sam Hagen; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beulah Severson of Black River Falls; a brother, Charles (Tammy) Berry of Taylor; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, John Hagen, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Wanda Clark; and a grandson, Donald Peterson Jr.
Funeral Services for Alice I. Hagen were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at the Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Burial was in Rest Haven Gardens, Eau Claire. Pastor Kathleen Jury officiated. Family and friends were invited for visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until 1 p.m. Friday at the Buswell Funeral Home.
