Hanson, Lois M. (10 August 1916 – 2 November 2009)
Lois M. Hanson, 93, longtime Black River Falls resident died peacefully Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, in the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.
Lois was born in Hudson, Aug. 10, 1916, to William and Emma (Holm) Gregerson. She attended school in Hudson and graduated from Hudson High School. She was united in marriage to Vernon F. Hanson June 4, 1938, in Hudson. The couple moved to Black River Falls in 1945.
Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She was very active in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women. For many years, she made the baptismal towels at the church. She was an honorary member of the Black River Falls Memorial Hospital Partners. She often assisted mothers in caring for their newborn infants at the hospital.
Surviving are her four children, Paul (Barbara) Hanson, Black River Falls, Pastor Craig (Cindy) Hanson, Shoreview, MN, Todd (Mary) Hanson, Apple Valley, MN and Karen (Curt) Blackdeer, McFarland; 13 grandchildren: Alisa Bruns, Jennifer Deutschmann, Paul Hanson, Amy Fay, Beth Hakes, Dan Blackdeer, Denise Wagner, Heather Brogren, Anne Kelly, Matt Hanson, Mark Hanson, Theresa Hanson and Kelly Hanson; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, Oct. 8, 1985, and her parents William and Emma Gregerson.
Funeral services for Lois M. Hanson will be Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. from the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to either the Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to the Black River Memorial Hospital Partners.
