Oldham, Calvin W. (21 January 1932 – 1 August 2019)
Calvin W Oldham, 87 of Lindenhurst, Illinois, formerly of Land O’ Lakes,
Wisconsin, passed away on August 1, 2019 in Lindenhurst, Illinois. Calvin was
born on January 21, 1932 in Neenah, Wisconsin to William and Olive Oldham.
Calvin was a Korean War Veteran. He enlisted and proudly served in the Air Force
as an aircraft mechanic from 1951 to 1955. A few years later he met Rita
Schaefer and on November 2, 1957 the couple was married in Appleton, Wisconsin.
After marrying they moved to Phelps, Wisconsin. As their family grew, Calvin and
his Father built a house in Land O’ Lakes where Calvin and Rita raised their
five children.
Calvin worked for Wisconsin Energy Corporation as a Lead Lineman for 37 years
from 1957 until he retired in 1994. Calvin enjoyed living in the Northwoods
where he hunted and fished. He also took pride in the large garden that he used
to help feed his family and loved to share the abundant produce with neighbors
and friends.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his 9 grandchildren: Alyssa,
Aaron, Katelyn, Sammy, Clara, Delia, Jonathan, Rachel, and Steven.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife: Rita (Schaefer); parents: William and
Olive Oldham and sister Elaine Hagedorn.
He is survived by his five children: Tom (Priscilla) Oldham of Glen Arm,
Maryland, Julie (Lary) Wong of Grayslake, Illinois, Tina (Lyle) Boushon of
Grayslake, Illinois, Suzanne (Paul) Atkinson of Indianapolis, Indiana and
Carolyn (Rob) Nosarzewski of Eagle River, Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the
Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home located at 304 Division St. Eagle River, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
