Flynn, Lorraine Grace (15 November 1923 – 3 August 2019)
Lorraine Flynn, age 95, of Neillsville, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the
Care and Rehabilitation Center – Neillsville.
Lorraine Grace Buchsteiner was born on November 15, 1923 in Greenwood, the
daughter of William E. and Elizabeth J. (Zimmerman) Buchsteiner. She attended
school in Neillsville and graduated from Neillsville High School. She was united
in marriage to Thomas A. Flynn on August 26, 1945 in Neillsville. She worked as
a cashier at the Farmer’s Store in Neillsville and she also worked at Figi’s in
Neillsville.
She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and St. John’s Ladies
Aid. She was a member of the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary and a life-time
member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Lorraine enjoyed going for walks, baking, visiting shut-ins and nature. She
enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, The Highground, the Thrift Store,
Sunshine Friends at the nursing home and running the food stand at the Clark
County Fair for the Kiwanis Club. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was when she
was caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Tim (Bev) Flynn of Coeur d’ Alene, ID and a daughter,
Lynda (Dick) Urban of Neillsville, four grandchildren, Clint, Katie, Dessa and
Luke and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, a daughter, Sue Bergemann, a
brother, Bill Buchsteiner and a sister, Milda Drischoll.
Funeral Services for Lorraine are pending.
