Ramsey, Joyce M. (31 January 1928 – 28 November 2009)
Joyce M. Ramsey, 81, of Melrose died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, in Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls.
Joyce was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Ettrick to Sanford and Agnes (Jemptland) Brohelden. She graduated from Galesville High School.
She married Vernon Ramsey July 29, 1951, in the Blair parsonage. Together they farmed and raised a family in rural Melrose.
Joyce was a member of South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church and its ELCA and Mary Circle.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Vernon; two sons; Aaron Ramsey of Melrose and Theron (Kristine) Ramsey of Bangor; three daughters, Sharon Haller (Erick Frederick) of Mindoro, Karen (Mike Garbers) Ristey of West Salem and Marilon Sue (Dennis) Isbell of Viroqua; 11 grandchildren, Kurt (Jessie) Ristey, Kristie (Josh) Mandel, Ryan (Angie) Isbell, Mike Isbell, Corey Ramsey, Austin Haller, Zachary Ramsey, Nathaniel Ramsey, Vernon Ramsey, Gideon Ramsey and John Ramsey; two step-grandchildren, Cassidy Witt and Kory Witt; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Gracie and Lena Isbell; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Seitz of Kenosha; and two brothers, Sander Brohelden of Taylor and Larry (Nancy) Folkedahl of Ettrick.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Carl; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Seitz.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Reverend John Ashland will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at Zwickey Funeral Homes, Melrose Chapel and from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Zwickey Funeral Homes, Melrose Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
