Whitegull, Rex Daniel (18 December 1954 – 22 February 2010) With Flag
Rex Daniel Whitegull, 55, of Black River Falls passed away at his home Monday, Feb. 22, 2010.
He was born Dec. 18, 1954, to Millard and Bernice (Deer) Whitegull in Black River Falls. Rex graduated from Black River Falls High School. Following high school, he joined the Marine Corps.
He worked for the Ho-Chunk nation DNR services. Rex also worked during harvest time at Ellis, Ellis and Dallman Cranberry Marshes near City Point.
Rex enjoyed outdoor activities, which include hunting, fishing, hiking and canoeing.
He was a member of the Andrew Blackhawk American Legion Post 129.
Rex is survived by his daughter, Mary Mabel of Wisconsin Rapids; mother, Bernice Whitegull of Black River Falls; sisters, Mary Whitegull of Tomah, Rebecca LeGarde of Black River Falls, Gwendolyn Whitegull of La Crosse and Roxanne Anderson of Tomah; brothers, Casey Whitegull and Kim Whitegull, both of Black River Falls; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Millard.
Tradition Native American services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, 1 p.m. at Andrew Blackhawk American Legion Post 129. Greg Blackdeer will be the presiding elder. Burial will follow in Decorah Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited for visitation Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Family and friends are also invited for visitation Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
Buswell Funeral Home of Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
