Staszak, Mary (Marriage – 15 June 1946)

Miss Mary Staszak became the bride of Leo J. Bloczynski, Jr., at an impressive service performed by the Rev. Geo. R. Bell in the Methodist church rooms at the Masonic Temple, at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 1946. The ceremony was witnessed by relatives and close friends.

The improvised altar was decorated with candles and cut flowers. The wedding music was played by Mrs. Jennie White.

Miss Agnes Staszak, sister of the bride, was her attendant and preceded the bride to the altar.  She wore a beautiful shell pink floor length dress, with a blush veil of net to match the yoke of the brocaded silk bodice and the full skirt of net, over satin.  She carried a bouquet of pink roses and white feverfew tied with a deeper pink shade.

The bride entered on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage.  She wore a floor length white wedding dress with an embroidered net bodice and a full floor length white chiffon skirt with a long train.  Her fingertip veil was banded and double with an attractive cap arrangement.  She carried a bouquet of red roses and white flowers tied with white.

The bridegroom and his attendant, Alfred F. Salm, of Milwaukee, wore dark suits and red rose boutonnieres.

Following the ceremony there was a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Staszak, for immediate relatives and friends.  In the evening the young couple was guests of honor at a wedding dance at Hatfield.  They will make their home at Hixton, where the bridegroom has a three room trailer house waiting for them and where he is engaged in construction work.

The bride has been at home for the past winter but before that was in Chicago where she worked at the Chrysler Dodge plant doing war work.  Her sister, Miss Agnes, came from Milwaukee to attend the wedding and they were surprised just before the service by the arrival of their brother, Albert Staszak, member of the Merchant Marine, who arrived from New York.

The bridegroom is a son of Leo Bloczynski, Sr., and returned from overseas last fall after spending about three years in the service.  He was in Pearl Harbor and the Pacific and was wounded at Pearl Harbor and spent nearly three months in the hospital. Their many friends join in warmest good wishes for their happiness.
