GRACE A. HALL “Wa geja huwiga” (A member of the Ho-Chunk Nation)
Grace A. Hall, 80, of Black River Falls passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at the Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls.
Grace was born April 17, 1928, at Black River Falls to William Sr. and Annie (Falcon) Hall. She was raised in the Black River Falls area and later lived in Chicago before returning to Black River Falls.
She had been employed as a seasonal worker at various cranberry farms. She also had been employed at thrift stores and by the Papermate Company and Norplex.
Grace was a lifelong member and officer of the Native American Church of North America. She also was a member of the Thunder Clan.
She enjoyed bingo and was an avid sports fan. She was fond of the Cubs, the Brewers and the Packers. She also enjoyed making beadwork, especially necklaces and belts.
Survivors include two brothers, Adam J. Hall of Merrillan and Reuben Hall of Black River Falls; two sisters, Mildred Link and Rhoda Rave, both of Black River Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Ebenezer, Robert, Sydney, Joseph and Adam Falcon Hall; three sisters; Norma, Cecelia and Lucy Dow; and some nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, 1 p.m., at the Ho-Chunk District One Community Center, Black River Falls. Samson Falcon presided over services. Burial was followed in the Decorah Cemetery, rural Black River Falls.
Family and friends were invited for visitation Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, starting at 4 p.m. at the Ho-Chunk District One community Center, rural Black River Falls.
