Houd, James F. (8 August 1928 – 27 March 2010)
James F. Houd, 81, of Black River Falls died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at his home in the Town of Albion, Jackson County.
Jim was born in the Town of Brockway Aug. 8, 1928, to James P. and Frances (Podany) Houd. He was raised in the Town of Brockway. In 1950, he moved to the farm owned by his parents in the Town of Albion. Jim loved to farm.
He was a past member of the NFO. He enjoyed deer hunting, working in the garden and raising potatoes.
Surviving are two brothers, Joseph and Miles (LaDonna) Houd, Black River Falls; two sisters, Josephine Halik, Black River Falls and Lucy Brenn, New Auburn, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for James F. Houd will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321), Black River Falls. Pastor Loretta Waughtal will conduct services, and burial will be in the Hatfield Cemetery in the Town of Adams.
Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home, Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers.
Pallbearers will be Jim’s nephews: Jim and George Halik, John and Joel Houd and Jeff and Richard Brenn.
