Bender, Elmer Lee (21 April 1898 -17 June 1968)
Elmer Lee Bender, 70, of Rt. 2 Loyal, died Monday in St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Marshfield. Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon from the
Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal. The Rev. A. Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial
will be in Windfall Cemetery.
Mr. Bender was born April 21, 1898, in Richland County. He was married March 29,
1921, in Granton to the former Agnes Holnbach. Following their marriage they
farmed in the Granton area until 1944, when they moved to Loyal. He was a member
of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Joan) Teon of Santa Clara, Cal.;
two sons, Merlin and Roger, both of Loyal. Other survivors include three
brothers, Floyd, of Grass Valley, Cal., David of Neillsville and Bernard of
Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Effie Martin of Richland Center; and seven
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hallis Kadolph, George Schillinger, Henry Lempke, Albine
Lavine, Hugh Darton and Edward Schlinsog.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton.
