Humbird (20 June 1968)

Mrs. Thane Joos, Karen and Janice, of Alma Center, accompanied by Mrs. Maude Newton, were in Eau Claire Monday afternoon and were lunch guests of Mrs. Helene Nelson.

A family gathering was held Thursday night at the Gordon Gearing home in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Durost of Alexandria, Va.; and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Johnston and Jim of Mesa, Ariz. Others present were Mrs. Alma Cass of Osseo and son, Charles, on leave from California; Lawrence Will and Mrs. Lydia Johnston of Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Johnston and children and Mr. and Mrs. Otis Dahl and family of Eau Claire; Mrs. Joel Radke and son, Milwaukee; Mrs. Jim Gearing and children, Hatfield; and Mrs. Ruth Gearing and Charles Risch of Merrillan.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Laffe and Mrs. Iffland were dinner and afternoon guests at the home of Mrs. Emma Haag and Leonard in Melrose Sunday.

Kenneth Sheffer left last Sunday for duty in the navy.

Fred Krosinski of Milwaukee called Tuesday at the Chet Bailey home while on his way to Alaska, where he will spend some time sigh-seeing.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bryner and Allan of Silver Lake were weekend guests of relatives here and near Alma Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Perry and three children of Oklahoma have been visiting his father, Tom Perry. They also visited his sister, Mrs. Vivian Handke, in Arpin.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nibbe and children left for their home in Hobart, Ind., Wednesday after spending 10 days visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen Dignin, and other relatives.

Mrs. Velma Enerson and Mary Jo, and Mr. and Mrs. August Schnick of North Branch visited Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Matti.

Mrs. Raymond Stuve was an overnight guest Saturday of Mrs. Harold Plowman in Wisconsin Rapids.

Mrs. Lucille Jacobs left Sunday for her home in Ladysmith after spending several days with Mrs. Laura Dignin.

Mr. and Mrs. John Greub were overnight guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greub, who are now getting nicely settled in their new home at River Falls.

Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fitzmaurice were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fitzmaurice, honoring Father’s Day.

Miss Lucille Dunn and mother are spending the summer months at their farm home and Lucille is attending Summer school in Eau Claire.
