Washburn (20 June 1968)
The Busy Three 4-H club will sponsor a Bunco and card party at the Washburn Town
Hall this (Thursday) evening. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Mrs. Chris Feutz entertained the Washburn Homemakers club last week Wednesday
with eight members and five visitors attending. Visitors were Mrs. Frank Short,
Mrs. Oliver Williams, Mrs. Art Williams, Mrs. Bruce Spiegel and Mrs. Carl Von
deer Ehe. They had a short business meeting and made plans for their annual
picnic.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dopp and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens,
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Urban and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Vincent, Sr., and Joyce,
and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Vincent, Jr., and daughters had picnic dinner and supper
at Mead Lake Sunday. Mr. and Mrs Stevens called on Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Carter
Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Barney Plummer called Friday evening at the Mrs. Art Odell home.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kahl and family of Oak Lawn, Ill., spent last weekend with his
uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Charles Havlicek, Sr., and visited the Charles
Havlicek, Jr., and Donald Havlicek families.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rutherford of Black River Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Knutson of Milwaukee spent Father’s Day with the ladies’ father, Paul Schultz.
Mrs. Rutherford also called on Mrs. Frank Short.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short drove to Hillsboro Sunday, where they were dinner and
supper guests of her sister, Mrs. Lewis Olson, and son, Russel Olson and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Russel Olson and sons, Douglas and Allan, left early Monday morning
on a trip to Montana, the Black Hills and Yellowstone Park.
Harry Carstensen and Mrs. Ella Schmidt called Tuesday evening at the Mrs. Art
Odell Home.
