Cole, Karen Sue (Marriage - 22 June 1968)
Miss Karen Sue Cole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cole of Rt. 2 Loyal, was
given in marriage by her father to Roger Lee Schwarze, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Schwarze of Rt. 2 Greenwood, during a nuptial ceremony Saturday.
Officiating at the nuptial mass at 1 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in
Loyal was the Very Rev. Msgr. Norbert E. King.
The bride was attired in a floor length A-line gown of white cotton piquet,
trimmed with Venice lace and styled with a detachable Watteau train. A lace and
pearl petal headpiece secured her veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of
white camellias, white stephanotis and ferns with white satin streamers
cascading from the bouquet.
Miss Nancy Cole, maid-of-honor, wore a floor-length spring turquoise A-line
skimmer, fashioned of karate linen and a self-fabric back panel. Her short
bouffant veil was attached to a chiffon petal headpiece. She carried a white
daisy chrysanthemum bouquet with white streamers.
Bridesmaids Kathy Berges of Minneapolis, Minn. and Miss Debra Cole of Loyal wore
identical ensembles. Each carried a bouquet of daisy chrysanthemums.
Junior attendants were Barbara Cole, sister of the bride, as flowergirl and Tom
Olson of Milwaukee, nephew of the groom, as ringbearer.
Bestman was Orville Schwarze of Spencer. Groomsmen were William Cole of Loyal
and Gil Rohde of Greenwood. Ushers were Norman Olson of Milwaukee and Tom Beaver
of Loyal.
Wedding day events included a reception in the Loyal Amusement Hall, a dinner in
the church hall and a dance in the evening.
The bride a graduate of Loyal High School was graduated in 1967 from the
Marathon County Technical Institute. She has been employed by the Northwest
Airlines in Minneapolis, Minn. The groom, a Greenwood High School graduate is a
1966 graduate of the Marathon County Technical Institute. He is a member of the
air force, stationed in Japan, where they will reside for the next two years
